1. Armenia is the first country adopted Christian as national religion in 301.
  2. Noah`s ark landed on the mountain of Ararat. From many places of Armenia you can see Mt. Ararat. Additional in Echmiadzin museum you can see the relief of Noah`s ark. Armenian are from descendant of Noah, coming from his son Japheth.
  3. Two apostles of Jesus Chris came to Armenia to teach Christian, and one of them brought the holly spear to Armenia(it is in Echmiadzin museum).


Day 1
Arrive at Zvartnots International airport, transfer to hotel.

Day 2
Drive to Khor Virap Monastery from where you can see Holly Mt. Ararat, where Noah`s ark landed. Armenians are the descendants of Noah, we are from Noah`s son Japheth. This is historical place of starting Armenian Christianity. Then continue to Vayots Dzor region. Visit Noravank Monastery(13th c.). On the back way visit Areni Cave -the oldest winery in the world 6100 years old, then visit active Wine factory, to have wine degustation. Return Yerevan.

Day 3
City tour in Yerevan, visit Cafesjian Sculpture Garden from the top there is a view of Yerevan with Mt. Ararat. Then visit Matenadaran manuscript museum (closed on Sunday and Monday). Manuscript, fragments of manuscript, documents, old printed books, precious bindings, individual miniatures, and more are shown from the Matenadaran’s database of roughly 23,000 manuscripts. In the museum, you can see Bible translated from Greek in 5th century when the original Greek version lost it was translated from Armenian into Greek. Then drive to Geghard monastery (13th c. UNESCO). The name of Geghard means spear, because holly spear of Jesus Christ was kept in this monastery, now this spear is in Echmiadzin museum. Return to Yerevan.

Day 4 Saturday or Sunday
In the morning drive to Armavir region to visit Hripsime church (7th c., UNESCO), and continue to Echmiadzin cathedral(301-303, UNESCO). (If it is Sunday you can enjoy Armenian Holly Mass). After the holly mass you can visit Echmiadzin museum, where there are shown part of Noah`s ark and holly spear, and many other things.
Return to Yerevan, and continue city tour in Yerevan. Visit Republic square then walk to Vernissage handcraft bazar, where you can see Armenian old and new carpets, silver jewelries, different natural stones, varies souvenir made by wood, glass, Armenian traditional dolls, paintings and so on. This is the place where the tradition and modern arts meet. Everything is handmade, so some places you can enjoy how the old woman embroider or a man sculpture some cross-stone from the wood.
Stay in Yerevan.

Departure.
